Chinese Calligraphy

Confucius at work... As a christmas present for my dad I let some local "artists" write Confucius inspirations on chinese paper scrolls.

Chinesischer Musikgeschmack

"My heart will go on" von Celine Dion's Titanicsong moegen sie hier in China, wie fast alles kitschige, wirklich gerne.

In a chinese Supermarket...

A box full of dried starfishs... stinky dry Squids... alive crabs all tied and lined up... jumping frogs in a cage and turtles to buy per kilogramm for a couple of dollars... This is how shopping in a chinese mainland zoo, erm.. supermarket can look like. You hear right, I am not talking about the local food market, neither the zoo. I am talking about a regular supermarket where you usually buy your butter cookies. Enjoy!

..from Lima to Hong Kong

'Travel keeps you young', i have said in an entry earlier. Not when you drink to much buddy. However, it was some amazing couple of days when I could show one of my best friends and dude around Hong Kong. He came all the way from Lima after his 2 months internship and stopped by Hong Kong for a few days. The best of Hong Kong is when you can share it!

Typhon Year 2008

Yesterday the fourth typhon signaled above "8", which basically means "very strong", came along the HK borders this year. Wind's as strong as 150km/h blow through the streets, heavy rains aside. Once signal "8" is hoisted people are recommended to seek shelter back home. Office's and shops will be closed. ..Bar's in Wanchai start Happy Hours ;) Although the news always report heavy damages, the place I live in has so far always been lucky. Asia's Las Vegas

1 hour away from Hong Kong and easily accessible by Speed Ferry's, Macau managed to establish itself as Asia's Las Vegas. Million's of tourists and players are visiting Macau weekend per weekend, even day by day. I have been there 3 times by now, but my roulette strategy never worked out so far ;o

Amazing Palawan

When we arrived at Puerto Princessa Airport on Palawan Island - Philipines biggest Island except the mainpart - we did not yet know we are about to find paradise. Puerto Princessa is the capital city of Palawan and definately not a typical tourist place, however due to not too much time we didnt want to travel much further for a couple of days only. We went to this open air bar-restaurant on our arrival day to grab some BBQ food and margharitas which should turn our holiday 180 degrees. A fullbearded american with his philippine girlfriend we met at the bar nearly pushed us to travel to El Nido, a 10 hours bus ride up north to Palawan. Tho just 4 days of our holiday left Stephan, Fri and myself decided to take this adventure ride on a local Philippine Bus at 3am in the morning and it was by far worth it. After an incredible bus trip adventure we ended up in the most beautiful place I have ever been...

Palawan Underwater

Back to Hongkong

Welcome back to HK...

Dragonboat Festival 2008

Team Austria was among the favourites... We were all up early, standing and waiting at Central ferry pier to be picked up by our team junk boat at 6:30am!! to do some warm up paddling before the big race day. Unfortunately our junk captain was sleeping good and arrived several 10 minutes late around 8:30am!! We missed our first race. Our chance to compete in the finals were gone. However, the one race we had left in the qualifications (at 3:30pm!!) we rowed like an orchestra on ecstasy, in such a rhythm and power that we finished on the podium on 3rd position after leading the group of dragon boats over 3/4 of the distance ;))) I can tell you, far from our expectations ;)
